The residents of Lakewood have every right accessing public documents, but abusing the system is unacceptable. How maddening it is hearing that Fredric Cornell (link the The News Tribune story) has submitted 56% of all information requests from staff emails to training expense vouchers. While I appreciate his concern over how the City of Lakewood handles its expenditures, he has taken this right to the extreme. I would rather see my tax dollars going to projects that benefit our city as a whole rather than Cornell’s need to keep busy.
In this day and age there is no excuse for not having such information computerized. If this were accomplished, staff time conducting document searches would disappear. Let’s get with the 21st century and modernize!
