Lakewood, WA – At approximately 7:30 a.m. Tuesday (December 22) morning, the Lakewood Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at the Village Apartments, located at 4210 110th Street SW. Crews arrived to find three apartments fully involved, with flames shooting through the roof. Once crews were able to gain access to the building, they found one adult female victim in an upstairs unit.
The building in which the fire broke out has 23 units, 15 of which are affected by the fire. Residents in all 23 units are being displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The Lakes Moose Lodge has opened its doors to the residents of the Village Apartments and has become a staging area for the Red Cross.
The Lakewood Fire Department investigators are waiting to gain access to the apartment complex and the cause is currently under investigation.
