FloorArt, a new business in Lakewood Colonial Center, will host a Blue Ribbon cutting by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Thursday, Dec. 10. The event will start at 5 pm.
The Lakewood History Museum, located two doors away, will extend its hours for the day, remaining open until 8 pm, according to Becky Huber, president of the Lakewood Historical Society.
Refreshments will be available in the museum and the public is invited to visit. There is no charge.
Huber said the museum currently is exhibiting a number of artifacts found by Glen Speith at the site of the former Byrd School just prior to the start of the huge apartment construction project currently underway at Steilacoom Boulevard and Lakeview Avenue.
On Friday, Dec. 11, the museum will host its annual open house with refreshments. This event will also be open to the public.
