A call for volunteers

November 17, 2009 By Ben Sclair

The Lakewood Arts Commission (LAC) is in need of volunteers. For those not familiar, the mission of the LAC is to act as an advisory body to assess needs, establish priorities, and make recommendations for the enrichment of the community and promotion of it’s cultural vitality through the arts.

This is done by promoting the visual, performing, and literary arts; encouraging the creative contribution of local artists; making recommendations for Public Art to the City Council; supporting community-building events; and fostering the city’s cultural heritage. The Arts Commission has participated in the Lakewood Playhouse events, SummerFest, The Korean Festival, and more.

We would like to have volunteers that perhaps would help with events….set-up, clean up, collecting tickets, participating in the event. If interested contact Betsy Buck (588-9344) or Susan Cowperthwaite (582-0300).
