Budding bug scientists will learn all about insects during a free program at Steilacoom Pierce County Library, 2950 Steilacoom Blvd. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m.
Children ages 6 and up will examine hundreds of bug specimens and live bugs with insect expert and enthusiast Don Ehlen as he presents Insect Safari.
Ehlen will encourage questions and participation throughout this hands-on program. Students will wander among a display of preserved specimens and will view living specimens up close. The living specimens will include various stick insects, giant cockroaches, millipedes, scorpions and many other seasonally available species. The Danae Rideout Endowment, Pierce County Library Foundation and Pierce County Library System sponsor this free program.
