Watch the Thanksgiving Parade with a new HDTV

Lakewood Area Shelter Association’s Frederick Brown and David Whiting along with Executive Director Janne Hutchins delivered a high definition TV to raffle winner Vern Ball and his wife Darlene.

The prize was donated by Whiting of Eagle Telecommunications. The raffle tickets were a bargain at $1 each and were sold throughout the summer and at LASA’s annual fund raising Walk in August. Crossover Christian Center hosted the walk and Crossover’s Pastor Brown was there along with LASA board member and businessman Whiting to help deliver the prize.

Other prizes included a gift certificate to Macys and $100 cash. The cash was won by Bernice Lazar who contributed it back to LASA. LASA promptly used it to help a client buy an outfit for an interview (she got the job). The gift certificate was won by someone who didn’t want their name given out.

LASA is a local agency offering emergency prevention services and housing for homeless families. LASA is currently accepting donations for Christmas.
