Lakewood, Wash. – The 13th Annual Safety Pumpkin Patch was held on Saturday, October 24th at the Lakewood Fire Department from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event included safety games, helmet sales, car seat inspections, tours through the apparatus and fire prevention trailer, and even a temporary tattoo station. Approximately 2,000 people were in attendance and received safety information, and a free pumpkin.
Lakewood Fire would like to thank all agencies that participated in making this event successful, including Fire Comm, Lakewood CERT, Lakewood Police Department, Pierce Transit, Pierce County Child Passenger Safety Team, Pierce County Health Department, the City of Lakewood, Lakewood Youth Council, and Forza Coffee. A special thanks to Spooner Farms in Orting and Mosby Farms in Auburn, who donated the pumpkins.
