Paul and Lauretta Lucien spent most of their time socializing with family and friends. Nature advocates, they were accustomed to visiting Mt. Rainier weekly, participating in community and church events, and eating out at local restaurants.
A series of unfortunate events found the couple essentially homebound. Paul, recovering from a Below Knee Amputation and months in care centers. Lauretta, burdened with all the financial matters, taking care of their home and Paul along with dealing with her own physical limitations sought out help. Being a motivated individual, she asked her doctor about attending Physical Therapy. She came to Rainbow Rehab Physical Therapy and life started to change.
“Both my husband and I are very grateful for the opportunity to have been helped by Marsha Hiller and her ‘crew.’ The encouragement and knowledge she has and has given us and the desire to practice what she has taught and trained us is heartfelt. Paul is an amputee and wanted to improve after he saw his wife (me) improve my balance and strength. We are both grateful for the encouragement we receive.”
Now, the couple is able to go out for meals at the same restaurants, enjoy visiting family, feel more independent and were even able to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at Mt. Rainier.
