Community members are invited to participate in a need assessment for Clover Park School District. The needs assessment is part of the district’s participation in the Summit District Improvement Initiative. The assessment meetings will be held Tuesday and Thursday, Oct 13 and 15, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Student Services Center, 10903 Gravelly Lake Drive in Lakewood.
According to Clover Park School District deputy superintendent Keith Rittel, it is most valuable if participants attend both evening sessions. “The needs assessment will chart our direction as a district for the next three years,” Rittel said. “Participation by community members is valuable and highly encouraged.”
The Summit District Improvement Initiative, known as “Summit,” is designed to improve academic achievement for all students through coordinated and aligned instruction. Summit is funded through a federal Title I grant administered by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). The program focuses on:
- effective leadership;
- quality instruction;
- access and use of data; and
- assessment, intervention and monitoring systems.
For planning purposes, please RSVP if you plan to attend the needs assessment meetings by calling Karen Snope at 583-5050.
