“Specialist Kevin James Graham was the love of my life. He was so devoted to me and Brian his stepson. During our time together he brought so much into our lives. His laugh and smile was so special. Not only was he a great husband and Dad, he was a great soldier. He loved serving his country and all he ever wanted was to make a difference in this world.
“Kevin made a difference to everyone that knew him. Kevin and Brian loved talking about cars together and they even had a favorite food, cheddar and sour cream chips. Kevin loved his cat named Joker so much. He told me in a letter while he was deployed that he loved me so much that if he wrote a book about it that still wouldn’t be enough.
“He was my angel sent down from heaven to take care of me and love me and he did that for as long as he could and I know that he will keep taking care of me forever.
“Kevin will be missed by his family and friends so much. That Saturday morning was the worst day of my life. When I opened the door and saw the 2 soldiers standing in front of me I dropped to my knees and screamed NO!!! Kevin Graham, my husband and Brian’s dad, will be forever loved and missed by us.
“There will be a memorial ceremony on Fort Lewis at the North Fort Chapel on Thursday, October 8th at 3 pm. The funeral will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove, Texas on October 14th, with burial at the Central Texas Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
“We want to thank everyone who has offered us their condolences and ask that our privacy be respected in our time of mourning.”
