Gladys ChristiansenGladys Leola Christiansen Sunrise 7/18/25 Sunset 9/27/09 Gladys was born in Tilden, Nebraska to Hurly and Grace Wingate. She passed away due to congestive heart failure. Gladys graduated from high school in 1943 and went to work for Western Union. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Russell Christiansen. She is survived by her three children, Sandra Hackbarth (Raymond), Clifford Rapp (Debbra), and Debbra Long (Richard); 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who were all very dear to her. Gladys loved spending time with her children, gardening, visiting with friends (especially her dear friend of 65 years, Margie), and gambling (just a little). Viewing at Mountain View Funeral Home, Friday, Oct. 9 from 1-9p.m. Funeral service at Mountain View in the Garden Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 10th. Shirley GuralShirley Gural 1923 – 2009 Shirley Gural passed away peacefully Saturday, October 3rd, 2009. She was born on April 23rd, 1923, in Minneapolis, MN where she graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1941 as Valedictorian of her class. Shirley moved to Tacoma where she met and married Frank J Gural, the love of her life. She is survived by three sons: Michael (Norene) of Las Vegas, NV, David (Kathleen) of Boise, ID, and James (Pam) of Bothell, WA., two grandchildren, Heidi Graham and Tom Gural, two step-grandchildren, Zach and Ryan Olson and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, Frank, in 1992, and her brother, Robert, in 1991. Shirley was deeply involved in scouting, being a Den Mother and raising 3 Eagle Scouts. Shirley wrote for the local newspaper, worked in a local law office, and loved helping children learn and grow. Shirley’s contribution to the Community will be missed. Viewing will be Thursday, October 8th, 2009, from 10 AM to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9th, 2009, at the Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA, at 12 Noon in the Valley Chapel. Reception to follow at Mountain View. Gravesite services will be at the Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 253-584-0252. VIVIAN L. SPRING Vivian L. Spring died on October 3, 2009 at the age of 83. She was born March 23, 1926 in Phenix City, Alabama. Vivian leaves to cherish her memory Tokio Hayashi; son, James S. (Becky) Prince; granddaughters Gina (Garret) Lorton, Sharon Jewell; great grandchildren Dallas Lorton, Michael Short, Robbie Short and Elizabeth Jewell. Visitation will be from 10 to 12 noon at Mountain View Funeral Home with funeral service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in the Garden Chapel.
