William ‘Bill’ Kalenius Was born on June 7, 1952 in Chehalis, Washington, son of William G. Kalenius, Jr. and Allene (Pat) Maloney. He passed away after a long illness of colon cancer on September 23 at his home in Vancouver. He is survived by his wife Mary Kay, daughter Kara Novak (John), son Will IV (Emily), his parents, sister Barbara Vining, and brothers Tom, Steve, and Dan. He graduated from Clover Park High School in 1970 and Western Washington University in 1974. He worked as an accountant in the forest products industries for Weyerhaeuser, Brazier, and WTD. While living in Lacey he started the Olympia Area Rowing Association. He then moved to West Linn, Oregon and eventually Vancouver, Washington, where in 2002 he started the Vancouver Crew with a group of local rowing enthusiasts. He coached until this summer when illness prevented him from continuing. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 3 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 4723 N. W. Janice LaVonne Howard Born October 4, 1936, Jan enjoyed a life filled with love, family, and friends. On September 23, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, Jan lost her battle against cancer. Otis Richey Died September 23, 2009 at the age of 85. He grew up in Arkansas and married his high school sweetheart in 1942. They moved to Shelton, WA. He proudly served in the Air Force during WW II, then returned to Shelton, where he worked at Simpson Timber Company for 26 years. In 1968 he moved to Tulsa, OK, where he was in business until his retirement. They retired in Sequim, WA, and later moved to the Tacoma area. He was a man of deep faith in God and peacefully departed this life to be with his God. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 67 years, Opal, four children, Kathy (Roy), Patti, Greg (Barbara), and Steve (Ann), nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Andrea, and son-in-law Chet. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community Chapel, 1301 N. Highlands Parkway, Tacoma WA 98406. Gloria Schroeder Winsor Gloria Winsor died in her Tacoma home on Tuesday, September 15, 2009. She was born on November 26, 1922 in Galesburg, Illinois, but lived for most of her life in Tacoma with her beloved husband, Harry, who predeceased her. She is survived by her daughters Christine, Gaye, and Margaret, and her grandaughter Elizabeth, who miss her and will always do so. George Philip Schonhard George Philip Schonhard of Tacoma passed away on September 23, 2009, at the age of 70. George was born on August 2, 1939, in Bremerton, WA. He graduated from Everett High School and the University of Washington. George married Judith Ann Clinkingbeard in 1962, and they had one son, David. George was a retired chemist, and is survived by his wife of 46+ years, Judy, son David Schonhard and daughter-in-law Nancie, grandchildren Michael, Rachel, and Jill, sister Judy Lee Schonhard, and many other relatives and friends. James Jason Stimson “J.J.” J.J. was born December 6th, 1974, and departed this life to be with the Lord on September 22nd, 2009 at the age of thirty-four. J.J. is survived by his son James Stimson, Jr and his daughter Tayana Stimson, his father James A. Haynes and mother Mary S.
