Armchair travelers will explore the lesser-known side of India during a free program at Steilacoom Pierce County Library, 2950 Steilacoom Blvd., on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m.
Experienced world traveler Chuck Burton will share his independent exploration of the vast linguistic, ethnic and ecological diversity of India, the world’s seventh largest country.
Burton’s talk will encompass what distinguishes India from other travel destinations – unpredictability, smells, communication, costs, hygiene and especially the people.
He focuses on his experiences rather than presenting a travelogue or comprehensive guide, and discusses the differences between tours and individual travel.
