Lawrence A. (Larry) Koval, born April 9, 1926 in Tacoma, Washington passed away September 17, 2009, peacefully at home surrounded by loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret. He is survived by his beloved Emma, her children Diane (Jim), Leann (Fred), and Dean, also his son Dennis, daughter Laura Sloughter, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, September 21, 2009 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Washington Chapter, 12721 38th Ave. NE, Ste. 101, Seattle, WA 98125.

In Loving Memory of Sylvia Emma Cook Sylvia was born in Albany, OR on 1/2/1943 and passed away at the Franciscan Hospice Facility in University Place on 9/14/2009. She was happily married to her husband Robert for 45 years and is survived by him and their 2 children, Larry and Michelle. She has 2 grandsons, Gregory and Andrew (Jasmine), and 1 great-granddaughter, Lacy Rae. She is also survived by her 4 sisters, Betty, Regina, Dorothea, and Cynthia, and 1 brother, Erich. She had varied interests: sewing, cooking, shopping, Bingo, watching movies, crafts, collections, puzzles, reading, music, and writing her autobiography. She will be dearly missed for her lighthearted banter, quick wit, laughter and smiles, but mostly for the unconditional love she gave to all around her. Jerry Kenneth Kennedy 9/9/31 – 9/16/09 Wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Born in Okemah, OKEin 1931 and moved to Tacoma, WA in 1958. He retired as a laborer from local 252. He was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Pearl Kennedy, wife Mary Louise Kennedy, son Perry Lane Kennedy. Jerry will be truly missed by his children Darla (Chris) Jensen, Jerri (Steve) Hamilton, Ron Kennedy, Patty (Mike) Eades and Larry (Katie)EKennedy, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Anna K. Cary Anna passed away Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community. She was 94 years old. Anna was born in Philadelphia, PA, the youngest of four children born to Pauline (Kozul) and Antonio Mrack. When a young girl the family moved to Tacoma to join the family terrazzo trade. Anna graduated from Lincoln High School in 1934. She earned a degree in High Accountancy from the International University of Commerce in 1938. Anna worked for the City of Tacoma accounting office for many years. Anna married Leo Cary, a Lincoln classmate. They had 2 children Helen and Jim. Her son Jim of Greenvale, Australia survives. A private committal service is pending.
George Steven Patterson 9/30/1924 – 9/12/2009 George Patterson, born September 30, 1924, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 12th. He was 84. He grew up in the Manitou neighborhood, the third of six brothers. His high school years were interrupted when, in 1943, he joined the Marines and served in the South Pacific. He fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Returning home from the war, he graduated from Lincoln HS and began working for PN Bell. He retired as an engineer after 37 years of service. He loved golfing with friends, “the phonies,” and his brothers at Lake Spanaway Golf Course. He was a loving, generous Dad and Grandpa. He will be missed by his four children Linda (Al), Pam (Gary), Steve (Karen) and Kim (Glenn), nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. His family extends their thanks to his special friend Elizabeth. A memorial to celebrate George’s life will be held in the Mountain View Aspen Chapel on Friday, September 18th, 2009 at 2:00pm.Print This Post
