Lakewood, WA — Lakewood Playhouse begins its 71st season with THE MOUSETRAP, the best known of Dame Agatha Christie’s mystery plays. In this suspenseful fast paced thriller, an unseen murderer seeking revenge stalks a group of victims who are snowbound at a country inn.
THE MOUSETRAP opens this Friday, September 18th and runs through October 11th, 2009, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Ticket are $22 general reserved seating, $19 senior and military, $16 age 16 to 25, and $14 age 15 and under. Special group rates are available. There will be one Pay-What-You-Can performance Thursday September 24th at 8pm, and an Actor Benefit performance at 2pm Saturday October 10th. THE MOUSETRAP holds the record for the longest initial run of any play in history, and in fact is still running after more than 23,000 performances. It opened in London’s West End on October 6, 1952 and has been in continuous performance ever since.
THE MOUSETRAP is directed by John Munn on Lakewood Playhouse’s intimate thrust stage. The set of Monkswell Manor is designed by James Venturini, costumes designed by Diane Runkel, lighting designed by Jason Burg, and sound designed by Joe Kelly. The cast includes Rachael Boyer, Christian Doyle, Michael Dresdner, Deya Ozburn, Mark Peterson, Syra Beth Puett, Mike Slease, and Alex Smith.
