UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA -– KemperSports named Brian Simpson as sales and client services director of Chambers Bay, site of the 2010 U. S. Amateur Championship. Simpson will be responsible for generating revenue through ticket sales and hospitality supporters for the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship scheduled to be held at Chambers Bay Aug. 23-29, 2010.
Simpson, a Pacific Northwest native, has an established track record in corporate sales, partnership marketing programs and group ticket sales. Prior to his assignment at Chambers Bay, Simpson served as vice president of sales for the Tacoma Rainiers, a Triple-A professional baseball club.
“Brian brings a dynamic background and market familiarity to Chambers Bay,” said KemperSports general manager Matt Allen. “We’re confident in his ability to generate both local and regional community support for the U.S. Amateur Championship.”
The U.S. Amateur Championship, organized by the United States Golf Association, is the most prestigious annual golf tournament in the United States for amateur golfers. Chambers Bay is a Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course located on the shores of Puget Sound in Pierce County, Washington and is also the site of the 2015 US Open Championship. Many of the leading figures in the history of golf have been U.S. Amateur Champions, including Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
