The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber will be hosting two forums for City Council candidates, one in Fircrest and one in University Place. Both events are open to the public.
- The first forum will be with Fircrest City Council candidates on Wednesday, September 23, at the Fircrest Recreation Center from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 pm.
- The second will be with University Place candidates on Wednesday September 30, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Curtis High School, 8425 40th St W., University Place.
The Chamber is committed to assisting the election of business-minded public officials. These two events will consist of a moderated debate between the candidates on various business and community issues and a post-debate reception to allow audience members to engage in one-on-one dialogue with the candidate. Community members are encouraged to submit their questions for the candidates prior to the debate and can e-mail all questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The forums are intended for the education of the public on candidates’ views regarding issues impacting business. The forums are not meant to endorse or support particular candidates. All City Council candidates with opposition were invited, though not all candidates will choose to attend.
