Kids and teens, ages 6 – 18, will test their Pokémon gaming skills to compete for prizes at University Place Presbyterian Church, 8101 27th St. W., on Friday, Sept. 25 beginning at 4 p.m. The event kicks off with competition for Junior Trainers, ages 6 – 12, at 4 p.m. The bout for Senior Trainers, ages 13 – 18, starts at 7 p.m.
University Place Pierce County Library invites Pokémon trainers to pit against other trainers in their bracket. Participants choose between two types of games:
- Big Screen Brawl: Entrants play their match out for all to see. This one is showy but dangerous – one loss and they are done.
- Union Room Scrum: Multiple foes and many battles await gamers – but no projector glory unless they get to the break rounds.
The top players in each bracket will move on to play for the prizes. Register online at piercecountylibrary.org any time, or at the event site beginning at 3 p.m.
