Circle the date—Friday, Sept. 25, 2009. Be sure to use red ink. And note the time: 6:30 p.m. Those are the details for the official re-opening of Steilacoom High School’s modernized Blair Taylor Athletic Field.
For the past several months a mega-renovation has been underway: from the track to the press box to the football field. The final Friday in September is the date when all will be revealed, according to Andre Stout, SHS’s Athletic Director and SHS Assistant Principal.
“Plans are in the works right now for a gala opening/ribbon cutting to officially open the facility,” Mr. Stout said.
To ensure that area sports fans have good seats for the Sentinels’ first home game of the season, Mr. Stout said that advance tickets for the game will be available during school hours at the Sentinel Outpost store. Kickoff time’s at 7 p.m., and the ceremonial opening begins at 6:30 p.m.
Don’t’ miss it!
