Edward Frank Karl, Jr.

KARLED~1Edward Frank Karl, Jr. passed away at home on August 31, 2009. Ed was born in Tacoma on 3-22-25 and lived his entire life in the Tacoma area on Wards Lake. He served in the Coast Guard and fought in WWII. He married Betty Wahlers in 1947, also of Tacoma.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, son Dennis, daughter Diane, sister Dorothy, and grandchildren Michelle and Nickolas.

Edward retired from the Boeing Company after 35 years and he and Betty led an active life. He served as a commodore of the Viking Yacht Club and loved boating with his friends from DIY & VYC. He was an avid bowler and was very proud of the time he rolled a 298 game. He and his wife also were members of the Prosser Organ Club and loved to play the organ. Family and friends spent many hours enjoying a fun game of pinochle with him.

A service is scheduled for Friday, September 4th at 1:00 p.m. in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.
