Christiaan A. Garcia, Rummage Sale Chairperson
For the past few years, the Knights of Columbus Council #11762 have held an annual summer rummage sale. The purpose of this sale has been to raise funds to support various programs of the community and church. Aside from our many religious programs which we sponsor and support, we have provided support for our local food banks, Veteran’s associations, and scouts.
This year, with newer and younger members, we are spreading out in new directions. We have teamed up with our parish’s youth group so that they may gain volunteer hours and experience, as well as support for their outings and missions. We have also branched out more to the community and plan to not only involve the community with us, but to be a more active participant in upcoming events.
Because of this year’s events, we have amassed more items than we have ever had. Aside from being a fundraiser, our goal this year is to take this huge downturn and use it to brighten people’s lives. Many of our young community members have not had the means to obtain necessities, such as furniture, to live on their own. We would like to provide them the opportunity to furnish a place — of their own — without having a huge impact on their income. But there is much more than that. We have lots of small appliances, decorations, arts and craft supplies, clothing, electronic equipment, and furniture. We invite each and everyone to come and join us. Their will be food and music, and it will be an all around good time.
The rummage sale will be from August 28th – August 30th, from 9AM – 5PM. The address is 10508 112th St SW, Lakewood, WA 98498Print This Post
