Paul Singleton, 61, a 30+ years beloved resident and volunteer Captain for Riverside Fire Authority of Independence Valley, Rochester, WA passed away on August 9, 2009 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Paul was born August 20, 1947 in Breese, Illinois to Charles F. and Verna L (Plotts) Singleton.
Paul was a Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War. A retiree of 16 years from US West phone company. He never missed a day of work. In 1988, Paul and wife, Janet (deceased-1994) open Singleton’s RV and Salvage which they ran with the help of numerous family members and employees. The business was closed in July 2008 after Paul was diagnosed with leukemia.
Paul is survived by loving wife Patti, daughters, Cindy (Darren) Rakestraw, Tabitha (Paul) Smith, Shasta (Jack) Hertz, sister Charlotte (Tony) Silva, step-children, Sara and John Dailey, 8 grandchildren, 6-1/2 step-grandchildren and 4 nephews. Paul was preceded in death by Janet and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on August 28, 2009 at Harrison Square Presbyterian Church, Centralia. A reception to follow immediately after at Riverside Fire Station #2.
A private family graveside service will be held on August 28, 2009.
