DuPont, Wash. – The City of DuPont Fire Department has announced Greg Cooper as the new Battalion Chief of Operations. The City is contracting this position with Lakewood Fire District 2 in order to enhance their fire department’s daily operations. Interviews were completed on Monday morning after an extensive testing process conducted by the City of DuPont and Lakewood Fire District 2. Both entities are excited for this position’s potential and find Greg to be a great fit.
Greg Cooper has been with Lakewood Fire District 2 for 28 years and has served more than 20 years as a Paramedic. He has worked his way through the ranks, where he holds his current position as a Captain/Paramedic. He has held other positions within the department, such as EMS Chief, Training Lieutenant, Training Chief, and has been a member of the Special Operations team.
Greg has spent more than a year and a half as a company Captain on DuPont’s Engine 25. He has been contracted to DuPont through Lakewood Fire District 2 and has enjoyed his time in a new territory. He is very excited to continue to work with the members of the City of DuPont, their firefighters and most importantly, the community.
