Roland C. Bailey Father, husband, provider, veteran. Born on March 7, 1935 in Chattanooga, TN and departed Aug. 8, 2009 in Tacoma, WA. He served 23 years in the US Army. Roland received his bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University and his master’s degree from the University of Washington. He was a member of the Cassia Lodge Order #5 and of the Tacoma Northwest Travelers RV Club as well as a respected deacon/past Trustee at Allen A.M.E. Roland was preceded in death by his wife Frances Ann Bailey as well as his father and mother, Bert and Augusta Bailey. He is survived by numerous family members and loved ones including children: Glemious (Matthew), Leon, Delores (Jerome), Frank, Jarvis, Ted, Sonya, Roland Jr., Lamborghini, and Aleshia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Betty Jean Gardner and Sophia Washington of Natchitoches, LA. Eddy D. Davis, of Tacoma, Washington died Monday August 10, 2009 at his winter home in Sun City West, Arizona. Born September 2, 1918 on a small farm in Oxville, Illinois, Eddy emerged from his humble roots to pilot C-47s in WW II, including flying in the initial wave of the D-Day invasion at Normandy. He wore his “First Into Normandy” cap proudly and took great pleasure from a later private meeting with Winston Churchill. His flying skills were further recognized as he was to be selected as Billy Graham’s pilot on his first visit to the Holy Lands. After 25 years with the US Air Force, Eddy went on to found Flex-a-Lite Corp. a successful auto parts manufacturing company which, after 45 years remains a Tacoma based family business. Not only was Eddy successful in the military and business worlds, he was also an extraordinary golfer. As one of the orginal members at Oakbrook Country Club, Eddy “The Iron Man of Oakbrook” remained an active member for over 40 years. Of all Eddy’s many accomplishments, he was by far most proud of and fulfilled by his own family. Eddy leaves us to join his late wife of 63 years, Margaret (11/6/04) and is survived by his daughter Linda and husband Rainer Willingham, son Don Davis and his wife Brenda, grandchildren Eddy and wife Sherelle Willingham, Lisa and husband Craig Chissus, Scott Davis, and great-grandchildren Austin and Mikala Chissus, and Jentzen and Jaerden Willingham. Graveside Services for immediate family and friends are at 2:30 P.M. Saturday Aug. 15, 2009 at Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. Lakewood, Wa. James “Jimmy” William Smith, Jr. July 30, 1972 ~ August 5, 2009 James is survived by his mother Joyce M. Michael Don Wells Mike 60, born December 5th, 1948 in Rapid City, SD, passed away Sunday August 9th in Tacoma, WA. Mike and his family came to Tacoma in 1964 where he graduated from Stadium HS in 1968. After serving in the Army he worked for Milwaukee Railroad until starting with the Boeing Co. in 1979. Mike was still employed by Boeing and was looking forward to retirement this year. Mike and Judy celebrated their 37th year of marriage in March. Mike enjoyed being a clown in the Shriners where he was known to everyone as Lu We Gi. He also enjoyed boating and tinkering around in his garage fixing whatever anybody brought to him. Mike would help anyone with anything they needed done. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mike leaves behind a loving family, including his wife Judy, daughters Cortney (Joel) Young, Michelle (Mike) Roll, grand kids Brock, Saylor, Irish, Kylie and Carson. He is preceded in death by his father Don, mother Marguerite, and brother Randy. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 15th at 2:00 pm at Mt.
