Lakewood United upcoming speakers

August 11, 2009 By Ben Sclair

The Lakewood United group meets at 7 AM every Thursday at Burs Restaurant, which is located at 6151 Steilacoom Boulevard SW in Lakewood. The events for the next four weeks are as follows:

  • August 13, 2009 – Update on State of the State Economy – Brian Sontag, State Auditor (Mike Stevenson – MC)
  • August 20, 2009 – The Big Fantastic – Western Washington State (Puyallup) Fair Update – Karen LaFlamme, Public Relations Counsel (Mary Ann Miller – MC)
  • August 27, 2009 – Iraq Deployment Update – Fourth Stryker Brigade – Colonel John G. Norris (Sue Boguszewski – MC)
  • September 3, 2009 – Blooming for Twenty Years in Lakewood – Lakewold Gardens – Stephanie Walsh, Executive Director and Katie Burki, Garden Manager (Bring your garden questions related to Fall weather soon to arrive) (Hugh Hedges – MC)

The dues for our next fiscal year, starting July 1, 2009 will be $20 per year which equates to less than 40 cents every Thursday. This is thanks to our volunteer board. Incidentally, our guest speakers only charge us the cost of a breakfast.

If you wish to make suggestions for future topics or speakers, please contact any of our board members, Sue Boguszewski, Hugh Hedges, John Huber, Kris Kauffman, Evelyn Kelly, Andrea Litton, Pamela Maddess, Mary Ann Miller, Kristi Roy, Mike Stevenson or Robin Rego.

For those of you who are only receiving this notice as a handout at the weekly meetings and would like to get it by email, please contact me at rarego@lakeviewlight.com and then confirm when you have received your first email from me.
