Letter: Grand Opening, Blue Ribbon Cutting at the Design Gallery

July 20, 2009 By Ben Sclair

A HUGE thank you to the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and all the members and guests who attended our Grand Opening of the Design Gallery in Lakewood. This has been a labor of love for Rachel and I and our daughters, Catharine and Rachel Anne, for the past eight years in downtown Tacoma. Following the sale of our building in Tacoma, we decided to return to our roots here in Lakewood. Our first home was on Lake City Blvd. and we now live 1 1/2 miles away from the store. I will continue teaching at Clover Park Technical College for the Interior Design program and running the design business. Included in the studio are the designers Steve Anderson, Natalie Smith, Kate Penk, Beau Fornillos, Sunny Houser and Crystal Delgado.

Rachel and I look forward to meeting the needs and wants of our past and new clients, for many years to follow, from our new location in Lakewood. A portion of the revenue generated from the Design Gallery will be assigned to a new scholarship for the Clover Park Foundation from the Bowman Family Trust, to further advance the study of Interior Design, a field we hold dear to our hears and are passionate in our endeavors.

Thank you again for this great opportunity.

Rachel and Michael Bowman, Catharine French and Rachel Anne Cole.
