Lakewood’s Northwest Commercial Bank has established a Private Banking Department, according to Kurt Graff, president and CEO. This is the second major expansion of services for the 7-year-old bank since the first of the year.
Edward R. Fischer, a lifelong Washington resident and longtime private banking executive, has joined Northwest Commercial Bank to head up the new operation.
“Providing full service banking has been our goal since opening the doors,” Graff said, “and establishing the private banking operation is another phase of the program.” Earlier this year Graff said the bank established a mortgage division and last year opened a branch in Auburn. A Loan Production Office is also operating on Puyallup’s South Hill.
Fischer has been in banking since 1989, starting with Old Stone Mortgage in Bellevue. After several years he moved over to 1st Interstate Bank and in 1996 joined Columbia Bank as a credit analyst. For the last 10 years he has been in that institution’s private banking division.
A native of Wenatchee, Fischer graduated from Central Washington University in 1989 and moved to Covington with his wife, Jacki. They have two sons.
Fischer is active in a variety of community activities.
Northwest Commercial Bank headquarters is located at 5726 100th St SW, Lakewood. The bank offers full banking services for small businesses and individuals in its offices and online.
