The City of Lakewood is soliciting project proposals that support and encourage tourism and cultural activities and tourism facilities in Lakewood, Washington. The source of monies from which projects will be funded is the city’s share of taxes collected on overnight stays within the City of Lakewood.
The 2010 Lodging Tax Grant Application provides information regarding eligible uses of motel/hotel tax revenues and the process for proposal submission. Beginning Thursday – July 9, 2009, application forms will be available at the third floor reception counter at Lakewood City Hall, 6000 Main Street SW, Lakewood, Washington. Applications can be emailed to requesters by contacting Melody by phone or emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org. Application forms will also be posted to the City’s web homepage at: www.cityoflakewood.us.
Grant applications must be complete, signed, and submitted to the city in person, or the originals received in the mail, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday – July 30, 2009.
Applications will be reviewed by the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, which will make funding recommendations to the Lakewood City Council. Final funding decisions will be made by the Lakewood City Council in September-2009.
