Submitted by the Elect Connie Coleman Lacadie Campaign
Filings for Lakewood City Council positions have concluded. Connie Coleman Lacadie has a primary election in August. As one who cares about Lakewood, you know how important it is to elect council members that will keep Lakewood moving forward. Lakewood needs council members that promote public safety, work to improve our schools, support economic growth, and are committed to improving our roads and rail system. Connie will be that kind of Lakewood City Council member. She needs your help to win on August 18th and November 3rd.
Lakewood needs to elect council members with leadership skills and commitment to the city’s future.
Connie’s 12 years as School Board Director in the Clover Park School District gives her the experience required to govern efficiently. As a city council member her commitment is to keep citizens at the forefront of any issue that comes before the council whether it is public safety, economic development, education, or transportation, Connie has 28 years of experience in office and program management and works closely with private industry to create and maintain lasting partnerships. She has the leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of our community to go to work immediately with the council, the city manager, and volunteers to help make Lakewood an even better community.
Connie is committed to keeping our city safe by providing sufficient numbers of police on the street, ensuring our most vulnerable citizens, especially our youth, are provided the basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, and medicine and continues to support early childhood education so our kids come to school ready to learn.
Connie believes our community is our most valuable asset and our greatest investment.
Connie’s role on the city council is to ensure that government is performing at the highest level of efficiency and is accountable to its citizens. Development of our economically depressed areas is essential and must be done responsibly to expand our economic base. Connie has the determination, commitment, and innovative ideas required.
Significant economic development is in place that will greatly enhance Lakewood.
As your next city council member, Connie feels it is important to support the emerging American Lake Gardens redevelopment plan and will work to keep the 50/50 relationship with the county to preserve funding for Fort Steilacoom. Construction is underway for sewers that were long overdue in Tillicum and Woodbrook. Connie has been very involved with the school district facilities plan which is in harmony with the city’s redevelopment of that area. She supports the Tillicum Neighborhood Plan and the master plan being developed with the Port of Tacoma for the industrial zoned area of Woodbrook.
Connie remembers the high crime, drugs, and overall deterioration along the I-5 corridor and Pacific Highway when we first became a city. She believes the crack down on landlords to clean up their properties, the support and resources for neighborhood associations to take back their neighborhoods, and a physical presence of police on a daily basis have been instrumental in the improvement of Lakewood along I-5. These improvements attracted new investment and will attract new businesses to Lakewood, which will enable the city to continue to provide services where most needed without raising your taxes.
Connie understands the need to be a collaborative leader.
Connie’s experience on the school board gives her great insight into the discussions the City Council will have concerning transportation, education, housing and economic development as they study the impacts of increased population when Fort Lewis and McChord AFB become Joint Base Lewis-McChord. She has been at the table with Congressional leaders to discuss educating military students and improving schools on their installations. Connie knows the importance of partnerships – the one with our military neighbors is essential.
We need to elect Connie to keep the city moving forward. Connie has attended nearly every city council meeting and special events since incorporation 13 years ago. It is critical that we elect leaders with vision who will support the direction the city is moving and work with citizens to determine our vision of what Lakewood will look like 10 years from now and beyond. Connie Coleman Lacadie is that kind of leader.
Connie needs your help – campaigns are expensive especially when running a Primary and General election campaign.
We need to reach out to voters and inform them of the issues and Connie’s experience and positive and effective leadership.
Your contribution of $25, $50, $100 or whatever amount you can afford will help defray the cost of direct mailings and other campaign costs. We need to help Connie win her Primary and General election. Please forward your contribution to Elect Connie Coleman Lacadie, 7425 Ruby Dr SW, #B-2, Lakewood, WA 98498 today.
Connie is endorsed by the Lakewood Police Independent Guild and Pierce County Republican Party.
