Friends of the Flett Creek Blueberry Farm

July 7, 2009 By Ben Sclair

We need your help with one of the best kept secrets in Lakewood! The Flett Creek Blueberry Farm behind Lochburn Middle School needs a little TLC to bring it back to its former high-producing glory. Hopefully the recent nice weather has helped to “dry-out” the farm and we will move wood chips and prune the plants in the first phase section. Three hours of your gardening skills will make a big difference as we rehabilitate the old farm. Some equipment will be available for use. We will need wheelbarrows, shovels, shears and hard rakes. Please bring what you can.

Next work party day: Saturday, July 11
Time: 9:00am – Noon
Location: Lochburn Middle School parking lot (5431 – Steilacoom Blvd. SW)
