Phyllis E. Weaver
Phyllis E. Weaver passed away peacefully at home, June 30, 2009. Phyllis was born June 12, 1958 in Seattle, Washington. She is survived by daughters Casandra and Vanessa, her son Jason, five grandchildren Leila, Jada, Leimia, William, and Tavon, Phyllis’s parents, Rudy and Thelma Jones, brothers Tony Jones and Richard Jones, sister Mary Alexander, and several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was full of life and had a laugh that was contagious. We loved her and we will miss her very much.

Ron R. Berard 8/9/50 ~ 6/14/09 Ron, a longtime Lakewood resident, passed away peacefully in his sleep. A 1968 graduate of C.P.H.S. Ron went on to enlist in the U.S.A.F., and spent a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon returning he worked at Western State Hospital. Ron is survived by sisters, Denise & Kristine & brother Jack. Ronda Marie Burl. Born July 23, 1971, passed away suddenly June 22, 2009 in Yelm, WA. She is survived by her husband; Michael; daughter, Christina; Mother, Loreena Simpson (Charles); father, Arturo Hernandez (Cathy); brothers, Bruce Hernandez (Holly), Arturo Hernandez, Jr. “JR”; Juan Hernandez (Jessica), Antonio Hernandez (Angela); sister; Terry Carter (William) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 10:00 am at the New Life Christian Church, 13036 Morris Rd. SE, Yelm, WA 98597 with a reception at the church to follow. Margareta Gransow – 1-21-1921 ~ 6-24-2009
Margareta, a beloved resident of Stratford Heights Apts (University Place), passed peacefully into the Lord’s loving arms. A proud American
citizen, she received an award from Pierce County on July 3, 2003 for 50+ years of faithful voting. She was an excellent cook, and worked at
Sherwood Inn for 20+ years. Preceded in death by husband George (SFC Army Ret.), 2 brothers and parents. Survived by brother, Herbert (Lore) Loffelmann, niece Alexandra (Hans) Rachner of Ingolstadt, Germany, and many friends. Graveside services on July 10, 2009 at 11:00 at Mt. View Memorial Park. A potluck Celebration of Life at Stratford Heights will follow. We will miss Margareta’s laugh and her love of life.

Charles E. Miller. Was born in Winnemucca, Nevada on October 5, 1921, and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 2, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Stella, two daughters, Gloria Lindstrom (John) and Karen Bernoux (Denis), two grandchildren, Charlie Pinchak (Kelli) and Jenni Pinchak, and two great-grandchildren, Abbey and Blaine Pinchak. Chuck proudly served his country in World War II. Following the war he married Stella, and brought her from Pennsylvania to live in Washington State. He was extraordinarily gifted with anything mechanical, and retired in 1983 after working for over 50 years repairing Studebakers, Fords and Mercuries. He had a wonderful sense of humor and approached life with a smile. Each life he touched was better for having known this gentle, caring man. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care and compassion of the Mulitcare Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice team who cared for Chuck during his final days. A memorial service to celebrate Chuck’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 1:00 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, located at 1315 N. Stevens, Tacoma, Washington. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery promptly at 2:30 on Thursday July 9th, located at 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, Washington. Penny K. Van Dyke “Grandma” – Dec. 14, 1944 – July 1, 2009
On Wednesday, July 1, 2009, Grandma was released from all her pain and peacefully followed the Lord to be her family’s guardian angel. Grandma will be remembered for her kind heart and joyful spirit. She truly was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend and she will forever live in our hearts. Penny is survived by her husband and best friend Paul, her two children Phil and Pam, son-in-law Jay, her four grandchildren, Jon, Jessie, Josh and Jaime and her siblings Jerry (Sue), Sharon (Tony), Doug (Karen) and Debi (John). She was preceded in death by her parents Lorin and Florence Emery. Penny was a blessing to all and will be truly missed. Viewing will be held 1-9 pm Monday, July 6th and Tuesday, July 7th from 11-9 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home.
