Tony Robinson, vice president for operations and facilities at Clover Park Technical College, will end a 35-year career at the Lakewood college at the end of July. He started at the school when it was part of the Clover Park School District.
The college executive was born in England and came to the United States in 1951 as a 7-year-old boy. He grew up in California where he was graduated from Citrus College with a degree in business administration.
Robinson came to Washington in 1971 where he worked with the AeroJet Company. When that firm asked him to move to another area in 1974, the Robinsons decided they liked Western Washington and he started looking around for another position. He was contacted by a representative of the Clover Park School District and was employed as director for procurement and auxiliary services.
Married to his wife Carol, they have two sons and five grandchildren.
