Something new has been added this year to Steilacoom’s popular outdoor concert in the park series.
Beginning Wednesday, June 24 shoppers can purchase farm fresh produce in Steilacoom!
Between 3-7 p.m. that day, vendors will offer fresh produce and baked goods for sale. The mid-week market continues through Aug. 19.
Space is available for up to 50 vendors to sell their produce and other market-type merchandise at the Town’s Tennis Court “market.” Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.
Market Coordinator Kelly Barkhurst welcomes customers—and additional vendors.
“Check the town’s website for application forms and guidelines. Market Coordinator Voraya Srisamang is the woman to see about vendor sign-up details.
“The idea for a farmers market had been in discussion for more than a year,” said Barkhurst. “Now it’s ready to go.”
“Because this is a community event,” she added, “local organizations such as Kiwanis, the Museum Association and the Chamber of Commerce are invited to staff booths to promote their organizations.”
Steilacoom’s Farmers Market joins the ranks of other area community markets such as Puyallup, Proctor District, Tacoma, Gig Harbor and Olympia.
