Seattle Seahawks visit Fort Lewis June 4

image001Fort Lewis, Wash. – Fort Lewis will host a team-building visit by the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, June 4 to enhance players understanding of today’s Army, to stress “Team” similarities between the Army and the National Football League, and to offer players a challenging training opportunity.

In the morning, more than 80 football players will be divided among 16 Fort Lewis units and agencies to get a first-hand look at military operations, equipment and the Soldiers’ experience. Also, some players will visit the five Clover Park School District elementary schools on post, and 10-15 Seahawks spouses will visit the Fort Lewis Family Resource Center and be introduced to various aspects of both Soldier and Army spouse life.

Players and coaches will visit these units and agencies in the morning:

After lunch at the 593rd Sustainment Brigade Dining Facility, the afternoon will be devoted to rigorous training on the Army obstacle and confidence courses on North Fort. The 42nd Military Police Brigade will run the courses which will offer the players a challenging workout opportunity.
