Lakes High School is hosting the second family forum of the 2009-10 school year focusing on the “Lakes Way.” The forum will be held Sunday, June 7 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the high school, 10320 Farwest Drive SW in Lakewood. The event is open to students, parents and community members.
“This forum is a continuation in the process of our students and their families making a commitment to support and challenge each other in creating and sustaining a school community that strives to be its best in school and life,” said Karen Mauer-Smith, assistant principal.
The forum will focus on the question “What does it look like to live the ‘Lakes Way’ everyday?” Participants will examine how they are individually living up to the commitments in Lakes’ touchstone and how they are doing as community members.
There will be student performances and ice cream sundaes will be served. Feedback from the forum will be used to make the ‘Lakes Way’ a reality.
