Obituary Notice

Anne Christine Karola died on May 2, 2009 and at her request she was laid to rest at Mountain View in a private family service with Rev. R. Hermstad officiating. Anne was born in Tacoma in 1918 to Carl and Agnethe Stenersen. She was a graduate of Stadium High, Tacoma Secretarial School, the nursing program at Tacoma General Hospital and PLC. She worked as a nurse for many years in the Medical Arts Building for a number of doctors. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, UPS Women’s League, ARC, and various professional and community organizations over the years. She was predeceased by her husbands, Dr. Paul Smith Sr. in 1972 and Arv Karola in 2000. She is survived by her step daughter, Beverly Karola Dobler and her husband, Bill. She also enjoyed four step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren. She had many special friends at the Tacoma Lutheran Home, where she had lived for a number of years.
