Lucille Cora Anderson
Lucille Cora Anderson was born in Duluth, Minnesota January 22, 1924. She passed away April 11, 2009 at Franciscan Hospice House in University Place, Washington.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Anderson; 3 daughters Corrine Pulley, Sandra (Len) Davis, Margaret (Greg) Smith; son Dennis Anderson; 3 brothers Raymond (Jo) Beyer, Ernest Beyer, Herman (Glenda) Beyer; sister Ida Malinosky; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Eloise Martin.
Lucille loved crafts, flowers, and time with her family, especially at their beach cabin. She fulfilled a promise to her parents to graduate from high school and did so with her son in 1962.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday April 14, 2009 at Mountain View Funeral Home 253-584-0252. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Skyline Presbyterian Church, 6301 Westgate Blvd. N., Tacoma, WA.

Rubin Dela Rosa Born 8/27/1932 in Cadiz, Philippines, this kind, loving, gentle man died on Saturday, 4/4/2009, of natural causes. He is survived by his wife Meriam Dela Rosa, his daughters Mercy R. Noonan (James), Grace, son Samson, daughter Jioveb, sons Rubin Jr., and Rudimic, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at The Church in Tacoma, 5012 N. 14th Street, on Saturday, 4/11/2009 at 4pm.
Edward Gene Hull January 20, 1924 – April 4, 2009 Gene Hull, beloved husband father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at home on April 4th. Gene was preceded in death by his wife Donna of 37 years. He is survived by 4 children, Greg Hull (Louise) of Steilacoom, Debbie Fast (John) of Olympia, Michael Hull (Susan) of Roy, and Scott Hull (Janiel) of Yelm. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was born on January 20, 1924 in Aberdeen, WA and lived most of his life in or near Yelm. Gene served his country during WWII in England, in the Army Air Corps, returning to live in Tacoma in November 1945. From 1946 to 1967, Gene worked with his father, who owned E.L. Hull Floor Company in Tacoma. He remained active in the flooring business until his retirement in 1999. Gene was a member of the Elks Lodge for 60 years and an active member of the VFW in Yelm. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. A celebration of his life will take place at the Moose Lodge in Yelm on Saturday, April 18, 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM. “Mr. James” Rummel James Curtis Rummel was born Feb. 20, 1927 in Oakland, CA. He went to be with the Lord and his recently departed wife Jane of 56 years on April 6, 2009. He is survived by his sister Donna Nicholson of California, and his only daughter, Lori Rummel-Underwood, also her husband Tommy Underwood, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many loved family members. In Memoriam of David George Vodicka (Doust) David George Vodicka (Doust) was born in Great Falls, Montana May 20th, 1954, and passed away March 4th, 2009 at his home in University Place, Washington. David’s family moved from Great Falls Montana to Midland, Washington in 1966. He attended Franklin Pierce High School and then Woodrow Wilson High School, graduating in 1972. David had a wonderful singing voice and could imitate Elvis convincingly. David had many vocations throughout his life, most of them centering on people. David was a successful hairdresser, owning his own salon for years. He spent time driving a cab, and most recently he worked with adult disabled persons. David was preceded in death by his mother Gwinetth Vodicka (Stanley) and stepfather William Edward Doust. He is survived by his father Dr. Harvey G. Vodicka, sisters Denise, Deborah (Jon), Belinda, Cindy, Libbi; nieces Kristin, Jenna, Dionne, Christina; nephews Telly, Cole, Brandon, Nicholas, Brogan; his life partner June Ashbaugh, and friends Ryan, Lynn, Clay, Cheri, and Dane. We would like to thank all the people who have been a part of David’s life and assisted during his illness. Remembrances can be made in David’s name to the American Cancer Society.
Ann Elizabeth Reitz On Thursday, April 2, 2009, Ann Reitz passed away at the age of 87. She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Dorothy Schnider and their family, and Fred and Bette Schnider, her son and daughter-in-law Ed and Betty Bisig, her daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Ron Scheidt, Debi and Greg Mills, and Marie and Tim DeLong, her grandchildren Jerry, Jeff, Ed, Jodi, Judye, Toby, Kelly, Kerry, Karly, and Ryan, great-grandchildren (Diane’s grandchildren) Sierra, Miranda, Katie, Jacob, Anna, Tatiana, Kiara, Jenna, Maya and Ava, (Ed’s grandchildren) Tyler, Brittney, Elliot, Kaylee, Cole and Rylee, (Debi’s grandson) Cole, and (Marie’s grandchildren) Austin, Gabe and Isabelle, and all her friends. Ann was born on July 29, 1921 to Frank and Elsie Schnider in Sumner, Washington. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1939. After high school, she attended Hunter College in New York City and worked as a bookkeeper in Stockton, California before she enlisted in the W.A.V.E.S. (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). She attended the U.S. Naval Training School at Indiana University. She served as a Storekeeper in the Twelfth Naval District in San Francisco. Her position allowed her to know the location of all the Naval ships at all times. She married Walter Bisig in 1943 while they were both on leave from the Navy. She later married LaVern Reitz in 1966. She was a lifelong member of the Tacoma Swiss Ladies Society, a member of the Washington State Historical Society, and a volunteer at the Fife Community Senior Center. Ann loved “Noel”, her cat of 14 years. In addition, she loved watching sports, especially college basketball, traveling, reading, movies, and camping. Any good deed towards another would honor Ann’s memory. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her name to the Tacoma Swiss Society Scholarship Fund at 9205 198th Ave. E., Bonney Lake, WA 98391. A special thank you to the staff of Rainier Vista Care Center for the compassionate care that was provided to Ann and her family when it was most needed. You are all invited to attend her graveside service on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home, located at 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW in Tacoma, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. at Mill Ridge Village, located at 607 28th Avenue in Milton.
