Interim Superintendent Search Forum and Timeline Schedule

Timeline for a Search for the Steilacoom Historical School District Interim Superintendent of School — 2009

  • April 8 – Board Meeting – Approve Assistance In Management (AIM) Contract
  • April 9-23 – General Recruiting and Vacancy Announcement
  • April 15 – AIM meets with the staff for input regarding criteria
  • April 15 – Board decides on final criteria
  • April 22 – AIM reports to the Board on candidates. Board approves semi-finalists for interviews
  • April 25 Semi-finalist(s) Interviews
  • By May 1 Half-day interviews of the finalist(s)
  • By May 1 – Staff Interviews, Board Dinner and Interview; Community Forum (7:00 pm). Board debriefs candidate.
  • TBD Site Visits/Contract negotiated/Board Meeting to employ new Superintendent
  • July 1, 2009 New Superintendent Begins

Specifically, on Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Assistance in Management (AIM) Search Consultant will be gathering input on What qualities and/or characteristics are you looking for in an Interim Superintendent?

  • 1:00 pm Administrative Council Old Pioneer Middle School Staff Room
  • 2:30 pm District Office Team Old Pioneer Middle School Staff Room
  • 3:30 – 5:00 pm Certificated & Classified Staff Old Pioneer Middle School Cafeteria
  • 6:00 – 7:00 pm Community Forum Saltar’s Point Elementary Library (Public Encouraged to Attend)
  • 7:00 pm Steilacoom School Board Saltar’s Point Elementary Library (Special Session Board Meeting) Decision: Approval of Criteria for Interim Superintendent
