The Pierce County Library System is accepting applications for a Board of Trustee to help shape the future of library service in communities throughout the county.
- Along with four other trustees, the new trustee’s primary responsibilities would include:
- Set goals and objectives for the Library System.
- Approve annual budgets.
- Adopt policies.
- Execute contracts.
- Address library-related legislative issues and community concerns.
“The Board of Trustees is critical to guide the Library in its services to the hundreds of thousands of people we serve,” said Neel Parikh, executive director of the Library. “The Trustees are especially important right now as we embark on a plan to provide services and buildings for our growing communities during the next 20 plus years.”
Trustees are non-paid positions and may be appointed for five-year terms and serve up to two consecutive terms.
