The Tacoma Area Literacy Council (TALC) will train volunteers to be tutors to teach Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language to Adults.
The training is 15 hours (April 20 and April 22 from 9:30 am-3:30 pm and April 24 from 9:30 am-1pm) and will take place at Community of Christ Church, 6912 40th St. West, University Place, WA 98466 and includes a nominal charge for materials. The
According to TALC, an estimated 50,000 adult residents of Pierce County need to learn to read better. TALC was established in 1967 to teach English to foreign-born wives of servicemen.
