Kaitlyn Kessel was recognized recently by the Rotary Club of Lakewood as its student of the month.
The Clover Park School District student boasts a 3.89 GPA while taking AP calculus, English and Spanish. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Ignite Mentor Program and was a Daffodil Princess contender.
In addition to scholastic and community activities, she is a varsity golfer, serves on the Lakewood City Youth Council and is a tutor to 5th and 6th graders.
Kessel plans to major in law after graduating from high school.
Lakewood Rotary Club recognizes a student from the Clover Park and Steilacoom School Districts each month and also applauds a teacher each month from the two districts.
Meetings of Lakewood Rotary Club are held each Friday noon at Tacoma Country & Golf Club. Meetings include speakers on a variety of subjects of interest to the 120 men and women members of the club.
