Jason Whalen, a Lakewood resident and attorney with the Tacoma law firm, Eisenhower & Carlson PLLC, has announced his candidacy for the Lakewood City Council.
Whalen, a former U.S. Army Field Artillery Officer, remains active with his professional affiliations and civic activities and currently serves as an appointed member of Lakewood’s Planning Advisory Board, the citizen advisory board to the City Council on issues of zoning and land use. Whalen is a member of Lakewood Rotary. previously served on the board of the Lakewood YMCA. and has served in a variety of leadership positions at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
In 2005, Whalen was elected as a commissioner to the Pierce County Charter Review Commission.
A husband and father of three daughters (ages 14, 10, and 3), Whalen believes Lakewood’s future is bright, provided its leadership remains focused on strategic economic development, continued public safety, improvement for our schools, and on creating a vibrant sense of community that attracts and retains families and businesses. “I believe my professional skills and community experience will contribute to Lakewood’s continued growth and success.”
