La Vonne Ione Hailey On Feb. 27, 2009 La Vonne passed away in Puyallup at the age of 92. La Vonne is survived by her son Wayne Clevenger, daughter Joan Clevenger Lloyd, many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She will be missed by so many. La Vonne loved traveling, camping, being with her family and friends. La Vonne attended Central Baptist Church of Tacoma. She was a true Lady! Services will be held 2:00pm, Fri., March 6th, in the Valley Chapel at Mt. View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood.
Bob “Grumpy” Johnson was born on Oct. 21, 1940. He quickly departed from us on Feb. 27, 2009. Bob is survived by his loving wife Sharon of 48 years, his sisters Linda, Diane and Karen; his daughter Debbie “Missy” (Sherman) Portzer; his daughter-in-law Jody Johnson; grandchildren Jenny, Madeline and Kelton. Bob is preceded in death by his son Danny “ReRun” Johnson. Grumpy was a collector of many toys. His pride and joy was his Harley. We welcome you to his viewing beginning on Wed. March 4 till Sat. Please attend his service on Sat. Mar 7 at 2pm at Mountain View Funeral Home. Please wear clothes that Grumpy would recognize you in. He will be casual. Reception to follow service.
Kathryn E. Stein Mar. 30, 1926 to Feb. 26, 2009 Kathryn lost her 3 month battle with Bone Cancer peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years “Our Dad” Kenneth E. Stein in 2007, her borthers Alvin and Elroy and her beloved sister Leila. She leaves behind to mourn her with a HUGE hole in their hearts her daughter Dianne BrownE(Bob), sons Darrell and Ervin Stein (Bonnie), a grandson Spencer Stein and 4 granddaughters Hillary, Teresa, Brandy and Erica and 3 great-grandchildren Tyler, Ashley and Garrett. Kathryn is also survived by 2 sisters Mary Heaton of Fargo, N.D. and Delphia Johnson of Wahpeton, N.D. Mom was loved by so many friends and family. A special “THANK YOU” to all for the cards, the visits and the many prayers during her illness. Many thanks to Hospice and especially mom’s gal “Pat” who allowed her to retain her diginity to the very end. Memorial services is Friday, March 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Margaret M. Syverson was born July 23, 1918 in Blowing Rock, NC. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday. She passed away on February 19, 2009. In 1930 her family traveled from NC to Bellevue, WA in search of work. Margaret lived most of her life in the Northwest. Margaret’s many accomplishments include graduation from Bible College in 1935, LPN license 1963, first solo flight in private plane 1976, author of ONuggets of Truth’, and extensive Airstream travel in the U.S. She is survived by her daughter Norma J. Boggs of Cottage Grove, OR, son William A. McNeely, Jr. of Blacksburg, WV, son Tom McNeely of Lakewood, WA, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. For those who knew her, Margaret was an indomitable spirit of determination, courage, and action. Her faith saw her through many of life’s challenges. Mom, we love you and we will miss you.
