FORT LEWIS, WA — The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, TAPS, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit Veterans Service Organization will hold a grief seminar for adults and a good grief camp for children at Fort Lewis on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Cascade Community Center.
TAPS provides a supportive environment where families can come together to share their stories, find strength in friendship, and help each other. The new TAPS Battle Buddy program, designed to help returning service members cope with the death of a comrade, will also be meeting as part of the seminar.
For the nearly 4,000 American military families who have lost loved ones in Iraq and Afghanistan, coping with a death in wartime can be a lonesome journey. But the families of our fallen heroes don’t have to walk alone. Help and comfort is available through TAPS, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
