First Baptist Church to host national Focus on the Family

February 15, 2009 By Ben Sclair

Focus on the Family”s first ever national marriage simulcast event will be hosted by First Baptist Church of Lakewood on February 28 beginning at 8:30am. The Focus on Marriage conference, made possible via satellite technology, is expected to reach as many as 50,000 couples, and will offer strengthening tools and compelling insights for marriages at all stages.

The conference, broadcast from Focus on the Family headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo., will feature speakers Beth Moore, Dr. Gary Smalley, Gary Thomas, John Trent and Del Tackett along with popular Christian musician Jeremy Camp. Speakers will discuss marriage as it relates to Christ and the Church, the Trinity, and everyday changes that can be made to strengthen the relationship between a husband and wife.

“What an incredible opportunity we have to influence marriages through this conference,” said Jim Daly, president and CEO of Focus on the Family. “Our goal is to use this event as a springboard to equip couples long-term in their relationships in ways that are practical and affirming. We anticipate a powerful weekend for marriages.”

First Baptist Church of Lakewood is located at 5400 112th St SW. Conference fees are as follows: couples ($69), individuals ($40), military couples ($34.50) and military individuals ($20).
