Kathy currently serves as the NAEOP Vice President and membership chairman. She coordinates the efforts of six membership council chairmen and works with the Executive Director and NAEOP Executive Board to increase membership.
She will be installed as President Elect in a formal ceremony on July 24, 2009 in Minneapolis, MN. Her duties as President Elect will include arranging site visits to various state organizations for the NAEOP President and Board of Directors. She also will be responsible for the upkeep of the NAEOP Board handbook, presenting workshops herself and Executive Committee business.
Kathy will be installed as the NAEOP President in Kansas City, MO in July 2010. She will still be at Pioneer ‚Äìbut just on the road several days out of the year (mostly extended weekends) during her Presidential term. She will present workshops, keynote addresses and install officers of state associations throughout the nation.
Kathy believes that each educational office professional can, and does, have a significant impact on the lives they touch whether it be in a school, college, business office or state department.
Kathy has been a member of both NAEOP and the state association, Washington Association of Educational Office Professionals (WAEOP) for 33 years. She is actively involved in all facets of both associations as well as being an assistant camp director for the Washington State Leadership Program and the Associated Student Body adviser at her school. She served two terms as president of WAEOP and has received the Washington State Excellence In Education Award, the WAEOP Office Professional of the Year Award and the Washington Middle Level Advisor of the Year Award.
