For the first time in the 28th Legislative District, residents will be able to communicate live with State Sen. Mike Carrell, R-Lakewood, from the comfort of their own home during a telephone town hall meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Using the latest technology, some residents will get a prerecorded phone call inviting them to participate in the event, which lasts from 7 to 8 p.m., and others who want to join the conversation can do so by calling in toll-free, 1-877-229-8493 and entering the personal identification number (PIN) of 14574.
“This telephone town hall meeting is really a convenient, cost-effective way to have a two-way conversation with my constituents that allows people to listen and participate from their own homes,” Carrell said. “Anyone can ask me a question live, answer poll questions and see the results in real-time or just listen in to see what their neighbors and I are talking about.”
The town hall’s interactive telephone system allows residents to have complete control over how they choose to participate and how long they want to stay connected. Carrell added that the telephone town hall allows him to connect with significantly more people than a traditional town hall meeting, and costs less as well.
