Youth Theatre Auditions

Lakewood Playhouse’s Youth Theatre is holding auditions this Saturday (January 24) beginning at 10am for its winter session. Young actors ages 7-18 are encouraged to get involved.

Cinderella

• AUDITION REQUIRED: Sat, Jan. 24, 10am Р11:30

This fabulous adaptation of the classic fairy tale is certain to charm and entertain! With only 9 characters, this show gives every actor an opportunity to truly shine. This six-week program is designed to immerse students in a total theatre experience that will ultimately culminate in three public performances. This play is perfect for both beginning and advanced students of theatre.

William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet

“For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet & her Romeo.” Join us for Shakespeare’s tragic tale of young love and unimaginable loss! Packed with action, sword play and a wealth of dynamic and unforgettable characters, this opportunity is not to be missed! Completely in Shakespeare’s original text, but edited for young actors, this play will prove an exciting challenge for more advanced young actors and actresses. Our six weeks of rehearsal is designed to immerse students in a total theatre experience that will ultimately culminate in three public performances.

A Tribute to Anne Frank

• No Audition Required

• Ages:11-17(Parental advisory for difficult subject matter.)

• Director: Brie Yost

• Days & Times: Fridays, 4pm Р6pm

“Of all the multitudes who throughout history have spoken for human dignity in times of great suffering and loss, no voice is more compelling than that of Anne Frank.” – John F. Kennedy. Part history lesson, part theatrical adventure, this dynamic experience allows young actors the rare chance to present a true story that must never be forgotten. All actresses will take on the role of Anne Frank through both her diary entries and scenes from the stage play that will ultimately culminate in three public performances. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity!
