“Forty-four Presidents‚Äîthat’s more than our entire class!”
That was one Saltar’s Point Elementary School student’s reaction after viewing this morning’s historic presidential inauguration.
The young man’s class that morning totaled fewer than 30 students. Still it was an impressive moment, with the words and their meaning to be digested and understood.
Students and teachers throughout the district were able to view—via classroom TVs or via the Internet—the Inaugural Ceremony of Pres. Barak Obama and Vice President Joseph Biden on Tuesday morning.
“We must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin the work,” said America’s new president.
As though in response to his words, students returned to their classrooms—ready to continue their studies—with their eyes on the future.
