The featured topic at our January 8 (Thursday) meeting of the Tillicum Woodbrook Neighborhood Association, TWNA, will be the latest on the neighborhood revitalization plan for our community. The presentation by Dave Bugher, Lakewood assistant city manager and city community development director, will highlight what is envisioned for infrastructure, crime reduction, improved transportation, residential and commercial upgrading, expanded access to American Lake, and enchancement of our natural environment, all while maintaining sensitivity to area history.
In cooperation with the largest architectural firm in Pierce County, BCRA, community architects, including Public Works and the sewer project, will also take your questions. The evening will also include the election of officers for 2009, the presentation of the 3rd Annual Rudy Rebel Baker Award, reports from representatives from the Lakewood City Council and the Clover Park School District, and our regular updates from the police department, elementary school, community center, and Lakewood Observation Patrol.
A couple of additional special notices. Do you need good quality furniture? Free? A wonderful group of folks from Lake City Community Church, in cooperation with the Youth and Family Center that is currently under construction in Tillicum, site of the old Sigs Tavern and Wander Inn, have made available a storage unit in which is placed periodically household items for community residents. Currently there are a couple of microwaves, a kingsized bed, childrens toys, clothes, dressers, and the like. Respond to TWNA Pres.
